The shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa, Gaertn.) grows in West Africa, and the nuts are harvested primarily for their fat content. It is native to Africa and grown abundantly in this region which usually contains about 40-42% oil content. This kind of oil is of special quality and being called shea butter.
